FAITH THAT WORKS November 27, 2008

The kind of faith that works is the active faith. The bible says that faith without works is dead – James 2:17.
For example, if the bible says that I must forgive and I don’t, then my faith will be dead and inoperative.
Many believers are living a shameful life simply because they want to follow God in their own ways instead of doing what the bible tells them. They always find an excuse to justify their mistakes. I know this may sound very judgemental but it is judgemntal only for those living this reality.
And if that is your case, then comteplate this as an opportunity from God.
You may call it what you want so long you think for yourself.

Dare to believe! October 21, 2008

It’s not God’s plan to make of you or anyone else a religious person. A religious person is the one who follows the ways of a certain religions, observing their rituals without questioning whether the same can lead him to God or not.

There are many definitions for religion. I’d say that religion is a system whereby ill-intentioned people misuse and mislead others who have good faith. God hates that! He hates religion!

If you want to believe in something, then the God of the Bible is your best shot. It’s a question of logic. He is the first known God to humans just as the Bible is the oldest ‘religious’ text. He is the first.

As I was saying, it’s not the plan of God for us to follow a religion. Just look at the first man on earth, Adam. The was no religion! No rituals, no middleman, no set of tenets and so on and so forth. It was Adam and God, God and Adam. Of course there was a boundary – the forbidden fruit (which by the way, no one really knows whether it was an apple). There must be a boundary. That’s the way to separate the Creator from His creature. Adam had to recognize that God as the Master. That’s God implanted the discipline.

As long as Adam would subject himself to God only God would be above him. God created the world and set Adam as the administrator of all His creation! When Adam broke God’s discipline, he was in fact rejecting the perfect plan of God as well as his position as Earth’s administrator.

Many years later, with the construction of the Babel Tower, many different religions were set up. Before the water flood there was a ’sin flood’. The water flood came as a drastic measure to restore order and discipline on Earth.

We see that since the beginning faith is individual. Abel chose to do what was right while his brother Cain chose the opposite way.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you dare to believe and choose cosmos instead of chaos, this choice will reflect in every aspect of your life.

Just dare it! You have got nothing lose.

So Simple. So Difficult. September 24, 2008

We can find answers to some of life’s most difficult questions in the Bible. It’s simple yet so difficult, because who wants to believe the Bible?

Who wants to believe, for instance, that the devil exists? But, then again, that would explain the reason for so much pain and trouble in world we live in. That would minimize people’s frustration against God.

I know you may be asking: “Why would God allow it?”

The Bible has the answer for this one too.  See Psalm 37:28

For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off

According to the Bible, God has an obligation with the faithful ones and not with the unfaithful. We choose who we are.

It took us a while to know that the Earth was round in shape and not square as early expeditors thought. Yet Isaiah wrote: “He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.” Isaiah 40:22

Why is it so difficult to believe? We don’t do what God asks and demand that He does what we ask! And if He doesn’t, then we just blame Him for every bad thing on earth.

I once spoke to a young man who was losing it for his drug addiction. He had already tried every possible option – rehabs, counseling, therapies, medicine, etc . He was a bright person. Very well educated. Someone who had spent his life reading books. As we sat in a church to talk I asked him why wouldn’t he try to pray. To what he answered: “Asking God for help is a sign of weakness, total failure! Asking God for help is the same as admitting that my knowledge cannot help me!”. To what what I replied: “That’s exactly it!”. He said he was sorry and that that was too difficult for him!

In my mind I thought: “But it’s so simple!”

God is in the mind September 2, 2008

Faith has been all this time linked to the heart. Yet the more I read and meditate upon the Scriptures, the more assurance I get that faith is in the mind rather than in the heart.

The heart feels it. The mind knows it. One of Jesus’ famous quotes is: “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free”. That’s because feelings come and go, yet what we know is for ever. At first glance, there’s no difference between the belief of the heart and the belief of the mind. The difference shows itself in moments of adversity, when, due to bad news, the heart is broken. It’s almost impossible to keep emotions high in such moments. We are humans, we are flesh, we are built to feel. Nevertheless, it is well possible in such moments of adversity to remember yourself that you are not alone, and that a power beyond human capacity will supply the way out you need.

Now, that brings inner peace! That’s because when someone believes that a superior power watches over him, he won’t panic! The mind, though faith, masters the heart.

Fellowship with God is the constant reminder that He exists and is with you at all times. That takes place in my mind and not in my heart.

What about love?

There’s no love without faith! How can someone love God if he doesn’t believe He’s for real?

In the Bible we find God’s thoughts. When one reads the Bible, as with any other book, he receives the thoughts therein written.

One just needs to open his mind a little to begin to comprehend the life around him. To deny the importance of faith is a very narrow-minded attitude, to say the least.

Fanatic people give faith a bad name! August 20, 2008

Faith is not blindly believing. In my opinion, faith is intelligent. Faith thinks. There is a danger when people have a blind sort of faith. Fanatic people give faith a  bad name!

Gideon is an example of someone with an intelligent faith. In the Book of Judges chapter 6 and verse 11 says:

11 Now the Angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!”
13 Gideon said to Him, “O my lord,[a] if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”
14 Then the LORD turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?”

He understood that when God is with someone, it must show. A fanatic person in Gideon’s shoes would bow down before the angel and say glory, alleluia, praise the Lord, and so forth and so on… But instead, Gideon showed a revolt which God called his might (strength). A fanatic person reads Psalm 23 and yells “Praise the Lord” even if he lacks it all. However, intelligent faith will ask: “If the Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not have lack, why then do I lack everything? You know Lord, if this is true then I reject misery from my life!”

Not that we must be materialist, but use faith with intelligence. A pastor once asked his congregation during the Sunday service who was feeling Gods presence there and there. The whole congregation of around 7 thousand people raised their hands, affirming to be feeling Gods presence. The pastor then replied, “I don’t feel a thing!”. People were shocked with the pastor’s declaration. Then he continued, “Yet I’m 100% sure that He is present among us. Not because what I feel or don’t feel, but because it’s written that when two or more gather in His name, He will be there with then.”

According to the Bible, faith is the assurance of the unseen. Some people feel great during a church service, only to get home and feel depressed again. Others know the words of the Bible as the back of their hands and yet, when trouble comes, they panic. Where’s faith then? What’s your faith made of?

Emotions? Knowledge? Or a firm assurance even in the darkest moment?

Faith – A Bridge to Heaven August 12, 2008

It’s faith and not religion that connects us to God! Many times religion ends up getting on the way with its traditions and rituals. Religion is a man-made system to manipulate minds. Just read your Bible and make sure you check everything you are told against it. I don’t have any problem with the Bible. My revolt is against people who missuse the Bible to somehow for whatever reason gain control over people’s opinion. Remember that were the Pharisees who ordered the death sentence of Jesus. Everyone knows that the Pharisees were the top religious people of their time. Faith is not blind. Faith thinks.

It’s always good to have faith. Faith brings hope and motivation. We should have faith not only in God but also in ourselves. Just think: if faith can make a criminal change his ways because of his convertion, is that not good?
It’s religion that sucks. Religion is a system that tries to block people’s minds. People fight because of religion and not because of faith. Faith makes us equal, religion sets us apart!

5 Lies We Are Told By Religion! July 23, 2008

1. It’s your karma (destiny) to suffer!

2. Your suffering is God’s punishment.

3. God is testing your faith by allowing you to be sick.

4. That’s your cross!

5. You need a religion to get to God.

These are all big lies. Unfortunately many buy these lies thus conforming themselves to the situation. If I belive that my suffering is inflicted by God or that it’s His will that I suffer, how will I fight for a change? If Jesus bore a cross for me then why must I bear it again? How can God as a Father cause His children to be sick? On the contrary, when a child is sick, the father wishes he could take the pain of his child away even if that means he had to set it upon himself! Last but not least, you don’t need the label of a religion to get to God. When one prays in the name of Jesus one stands in God’s Presence and once there no middleman is needed – no pastor, no rabbi, to priest, no reverend , no one… It’s just the person and God, God and the person. thinkFORyourself!

What time? July 19, 2008

When was the last time you did something you really wanted to?

Or the last time you did something that you really enjoyed?

In life, there’s time for everything!

One must have time to cry but also time to laugh,

time to work and also time to rest,

time to plan and time to make things happen,

time for the family, time for yourself.

Time to do something for a total stranger

and time to God.

Remember: time is a question of preference! We always have time for what we prefer doing.

There’s still time to break the routine and get your life back!

Think about that!

Do you have a friend?

A real friend?

Everyone needs a friend. Real friends, however, are not so easy to find!

That’s a quest in life – ‘The Quest for a Real Friend!’

How do friends come into our lives? Shall we simply bump onto them on the street?

Will a friend fall from the sky?

Or is friendship like a seed – it needs to be sown and cared for?

If we would rather choose the later type of friendship philosophy,

than we come to the conclusion that if we are a real friend to

someone, someone will be a real friend to us!

Therefore, be friends with whomever you will – God, your wife,

the president, the mailman and so on and so forth.

Do not forget to be a friend to yourself!

Sow.

A father that a friend is, fulfills his calling in life!
